DCPO: 87th Araw ng Davao peaceful

THE 87TH Araw ng Davao concluded peacefully on Sunday, March 17, with hundreds of participants joining the Parada Dabawenyo, according to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO).

DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon on Sunday said they recorded no untoward incidents since the parade started in the morning.

Based on the report, the police estimated the crowd watching the parade to reach 5,000. The 2,621 personnel deployed during the culminating event were more than sufficient to secure their safety, she said.

Meanwhile, Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte and staff also joined the activity.

Around 300 contingents joined Sunday’s Parada Dabawenyo composed of groups coming from government line agencies, city government offices, local and national organizations, and different levels of schools in the city.

The parade started at exactly 6 in the morning on Roxas Avenue and ended before noon. 

Contingents showcased their floats, waved their flaglets, made noises from their vehicles, and showed their best band performances in the streets of Davao City.
