THE MANAGER of the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) reminded the riding public to plan their travels considering the limited bus trips for Maunday Thursday and Holy Friday.

During the AFP-PNP Conference on Wednesday, March 20, Aisa Usop said that small bus operators typically have no trips on Holy Friday.

For big companies, only Rural Transit (Davao-Cagayan de Oro), Mindanao Star (Davao-General Santos City-Cotabato, and Bachelor Express (Davao City-Butuan) have scheduled bus trips.

She added they will suspend the 15-, 20- and 30-minute waiting time during peak days to expedite the movement of passengers. Buses will be then allowed to leave after all seats are occupied.

However, she stresses that for the Maundy Thursday and Holy Friday, bus trips will only depend on the number of passengers occupancy.

The DCOTT manager then appealed to the public to plan ahead to secure their seats.

She said they expect 50,000-75,000 passengers per day by next week.

“We are doing everything nga ma secure ang atoang mga pasahero. So, atong gibarugan diha is safety first over convenience,” Usop said

The management opened a temporary entrance because of the ongoing rehabilitation work. Nevertheless, security personnel remained strict in screening the bags and luggage of incoming passengers on top of the 32 CCTVs.
