THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) on Wednesday said they couldn’t confirm reports of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s private helicopter circling on multiple occasions between May 1 and 14.
DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said, “Based on information from the Sasa Police Station, there have been no reports of a helicopter sighting within their area.”
“We emphasize that no reports have been filed and our deployed personnel haven’t confirmed any visual sightings,” she further said.
However, she confirmed that a tracking team composed of Sasa and Calinan police, along with other law enforcement agencies, continues to search for Pastor Quiboloy’s whereabouts.
“We are doing everything possible to locate Pastor Quiboloy,” Captain Tuazon stressed. “If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, we urge you to come forward and assist us in our search,” she added.
CAAP confirms helicopter flights
However, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP)-Davao confirmed separate reports from GMA News that Quiboloy’s private helicopter made multiple flights over Davao City in the first half of this month.
CAAP-Davao Air Traffic Control Tower Head Ramir Pangilinan said the last recorded flight path went from the hangar to Barangay Tamayong and back.
Pangilinan clarified that the manifesto submitted for the flights did not list Pastor Quiboloy as a passenger.
In the absence of a hold departure order, CAAP’s role is limited to monitoring the helicopter’s activity within Davao City airspace. They will, however, coordinate with the Aviation Security Office XI if Pastor Quiboloy attempts to travel outside the city.
