Davao Light warns consumers with flying connections

THE DAVAO Light and Power Company (DLPC) warned consumers to avoid flying connections since they are prone to electrical fire breakouts.

Fermin Edillon, DLPC reputation enhancement department head, said they would take serious action against consumers who tap electricity from legitimate connections without any consent or permission from the utility company.

Kauban pud nato ang kapulisan ana para mag call sa attention sa mga naga-flying connections (Together with the police, we call the attention of those electric consumers with flying connections). Ginatawagan nato, naga-communicate ta sa ilaha or ginapadalaan nato’g Violation of Contract kato mismo ang mga konsumante nato nga gapakabit og metro sa ilang silingan (We communicate with them or send them a Violation of Contract, especially those consumers who let their neighbors connect to their electric meters),”  Edillon said.

Edillon also urged the public to report the violator as it may possibly cause a fire in their neighborhood.

Nganong dili mani sila maka-avail og kuryente? (Why can’t these people have access to electricity?) Probably, naa sila’y mga requirements nga dili ma-comply, isa na dihaa ang proof of ownership, or wala’y mga electrical permit (Probably, they didn’t comply with the requirements needed such as the proof of ownership, and as well as an electrical permit),” Edillon added.

He also said they should coordinate with their respective barangays to address their lack of electricity instead of resorting to flying connections.
