UPGRADE Innolab will invite 50 investors and 50 entrepreneurs to the Davao Investors’ Mixer networking event on Sept. 29 at the Seda Hotel to bolster the local startup ecosystem.
At Wednesday’s Habi at Kape on Sept. 18, Upgrade Innolab president Richard Day said they hope to invite venture capitalists, angel, and aspiring investors within and outside Davao interested in investing in local and homegrown startups.
Davao Investors’ Mixers aims to facilitate dialogue between investors and entrepreneurs to consider investing in locally-grown tech startup companies supported by Davao Region’s incubators, accelerators, and venture builders firms.
“The very goal of this activity is for these entrepreneurs to connect with these local investors for potential meaningful discussion on fundraising. At the same time, this is a launch pad for us to launch the Davao Angel Investors Network,” he said.
Day added that Davao Investors’ Mixer will also address the recommendation of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Startup Ecosystem Mapping of 2023 to suggest Davao organize its own angel investors community.
The Davao Investors’ Mixers, spearheaded by IDEAS Davao in conjunction with Upgrade Innolab, Villgro Philippines, and the City Government of Davao, is one of the upcoming events of the Davao Startup Week 2024.
Davao Startup Week 2024 aims to highlight the growing prominence of Davao Region’s startup ecosystem with numerous events to take place in September.
