Davao de Oro Serbisyo Fair draws record no. of registrants

THE BAGONG Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) has recorded 54,935 who pre-registered online for the two-day caravan on Sept. 23-24, exceeding the organizers’ target of 41,000.

Atty. Chic Salamida, BPSF national secretariat, said the online pre-registration is still open to the public not only from Monkayo but also the municipalities and barangays of Davao de Oro.

Hindi naman tayo titigil don sa ating target. Mas mabuti na mas marami  pa tayong matutulungan (We will not stop at our target. It is better if we can help more people),” Salamida said.

Davao de Oro 1st District Rep. Maria Carmen “Maricar” Zamora, BPSF local convenor, said pre-registration is required, especially for people who will avail of the medical outreach since they can only serve a limited number of registrants.

Some of the services do not allow walk-ins, such as the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for driver’s license applications.

Services that allow walk-ins are those with shorter processes including the NBI clearance, police clearance, PRC inquiries and license renewal, and FDA license to operate, among others.

“This is to avoid shopping and to avoid one person having one service to another,” she added.

Meanwhile, Zamora discouraged people from far-flung areas from availing of medical services as it is impractical for them to travel a long way when they could go to their corresponding municipalities instead.

Registrants will have a chance to win raffle prizes including motorcycles, washing machines, television sets, and grocery items will be drawn throughout the day.

Apart from social services, livelihood and educational services, and regulatory function services that beneficiaries may avail, the Department of Trade and Industry also partnered with NCCC “Diskwento Caravan”  to sell household needs at a discounted price.
