THE DAVAO Culinary Cup returned for its 6th season after a three-year hiatus with 14 of Manila’s renowned master chefs on May 25.

Over the years, the DCC has progressed into Mindanao’s most anticipated culinary competition. This year welcomes over 200 participants, with 15 teams from various schools, restaurateurs, and culinary enthusiasts.

The prime mover of culinary competitions in Mindanao, LTB Chefs Association of Davao president Sally San Jose thanked the esteemed chefs for their support in acknowledging the talents of Davaoeños and this advocacy.

“With deepest gratitude, we thank our loyal patrons for their unrelenting support for this advocacy to be a venue for the continued rise of the Davaoeño talents to be among their peers and compete with the most important contender, themselves,” San Jose said.

San Jose requested assistance from the city government of Davao in her advocacy to level up and boost the food tourism of the city. She also seeks support for the next culinary cup to be the biggest culinary event in Mindanao.

This event serves as an avenue for professionals and aspiring chefs to expose themselves and give them an arena to compete against their peers. It is to bring them to the limelight of the culinary industry.

“Also to my fellow davaoeños, I look forward to your loyalty to this cause. Sa bisaya pa, kinsa pa man magtinabangay kun’di kita ra pud gihapon aron ipakita ang atong talento ug katakos sa atong mga kalungsod, and to the world (Also to my fellow davaoeños, I look forward to your loyalty to this cause. In Bisaya, who else will help each other but ourselves, in showing our talents and strengths to our fellow citizens, and to the world),” she uttured.
