Davao City sends team to 2019 PHILSPADA Nat’l Para Games

Davao City – With high hopes to achieve more medals than last year’s feat, Davao City sends a more competitive contingent to this year’s PHILSPADA National Para Games this May 23 to 31 to be held at the Bulacan Sports Complex in Malolos City, Bulacan.

“This year, we have bigger chances to surpass last year’s performance as we bank on athletics and swimming,” said Renah Vidamo, Davao City’s head of delegation to the upcoming Games on Thursday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the SM City Davao Annex.

Davao City will pin its chances on multi-awarded Para Games tanker Ernie Gawilan along with tracksters Arvie John Arreglado, Evenizer Celebrado, Arnel Genilza, Franklin Dave Acabado, Antonio Espanol, Isidro Acabado, Ron Justin Galendez and Marichu Rellita.

It will also have golden chances from woodpusher and PHILSPADA region XI director NA James Infiesto, tenpin bowler Noel Espanol and archer Marzel Burgos.

Also seeing action are Goal Ball’s Cres Alafante, Ian Christopher Nakila, Jayson Ray Arias, Richard Cubillas and coach Joel Tapere; table netters Smith Billy Cartera, Hoel Superales, Racleo Martinez Jr., Domingo Magbanua Lequin Jr., Ricky Pulbos Tolentino, Ana Sumating Tilacan, Reyden Alisoso Panares, Ludivico Gecain Mascarinas Jr.,Jobert Lumanta and Jackson Martin as coach.

Aside from Infiesto, Davao City woodpushers include Elmar Olivar, Aldrin Pana, Jeoffrey Amad, Evangeline Gamao and Cecillo Acas. For badminton they are Johnlo Bandala Respicio and Abegail Dionela while Edner Plemit Macal banners the city’s hopes in powerlifting.

The wheelchair basketball team will have Jerry Lumandog, Pagunsan, Jannil Beringuel Canete, David Fabroa Jr., Edgardo Villasica, Jonathan Mamitag, Jomaric Embalzado, Muhammad Khalid Alvarez, Ricky Salcedo, Angelito Janojan, Allan Blicario, Brian Lara delos Santos, Joseper Guadalupe which coaches Renendo Martinez and Allan Rasman.
