
THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) has reported a successful 24-hour period in its ongoing fight against illegal drugs, seizing over P200,000 worth of shabu.
Acting city director, PCol. Hansel M. Marantan, said they conducted six separate anti-illegal drug operations, resulting in the apprehension of eight individuals allegedly involved in drug-related activities.
The operations, carried out by various police stations across the city, yielded a total of P212,908.00 worth of shabu, based on standard drug price valuation.
The largest seizure occurred in Sta. Ana Police Station (PS1), where authorities confiscated an estimated P170,000 worth of the illegal substance.
Other successful operations were conducted in Buhangin (PS5), Calinan (PS10), Marilog (PS12), Bajada (PS18), and Eden (PS19).
The DCPO emphasized the crucial role of community support in these operations, acknowledging the valuable information provided by residents regarding individuals involved in illegal drug activities.
Moreover, the collaborative efforts of barangay officials, the community, and the Local Government Unit were also recognized and appreciated.
The DCPO stressed its commitment to continuing its relentless campaign against illegal drugs, recognizing the strong link between drug use and other criminal activities.
The police force reiterated its dedication to creating a safer environment for all Dabawenyos and assured the public that these operations would not cease.
