Definitely, especially in our matriarchal society, Motherhood is the preeminent force for change. While William Ross Wallace’s “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle” is now largely forgotten, the poem’s title itself is a commonly quoted proverb. Thanks to dusitD2, the premier hotel is currently celebrating a tribute to Mothers to remind us all to show our moms how grateful we are that they are in our lives. If it weren’t for our moms, we wouldn’t be here right now. For that alone, we should thank our moms that we are breathing; and eagerly anticipating what the future holds for our Inang Bayan with the new leadership that was recently elected to rule.

From May 8-31, the self-taught and talented artiste Tanya Gaisano-Lee has her pen art pieces on the subject of Mother and Child on display at the Dusit Gourmet Lounge of dusitD2 Davao and Dusit Thani Residence Davao. Tanya began her artistic journey in 2014 with a black pen, and has since progressed in the use of such media as acrylics and inks which are integral parts of her distinctive art expression. For this solo exhibit, Tanya colorfully pays tribute to the significant role mothers play in nurturing the family and society as a whole.
Madayaw Café, on the other hand, matches the intense passion in Tanya Gaisano-Lee’s artworks with its culinary delights. Offering lunch and dinner buffet spreads, Moms are up for some surprises from the likes of the luxurious Namm Spa and other partners. Both the lunch and dinner buffet spreads are guaranteed to be rich in flavor and texture.
The Madayaw Cafe signature dishes like the sought after Roasted Beef Chuck Roll and Roasted Lamb Leg are offered at the Café’s live carving station to satisfy your taste. There is a wide array of salads, cold cuts, and international dishes to choose from.
Highlighting the tribute for Mothers are well-inspired and beautifully created desserts. The buffet spread will surely not disappoint with all these heavenly offerings.
The dessert station will showcase the pastry team’s specialty cakes for the occasion, and shall also include Croquembouche and French Macaron Towers.
