CTTMO warns FB page used by drivers to avoid ops

THE CITY Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) warned drivers and motorists against joining a Facebook page dedicated to skirting traffic rules and operations.

During the iSpeak media forum on March 14, CTTMO chief Dionisio Abude said their system can still detect vehicles with a running violation.

“They cannot escape sa atong mga personahe kay once gani nga naa sila’y violation, ang ginatan-aw namo diha is running violation. Pag naa ka’y running violations, all violations sa imong sakyanan, pwede namo siyang masilip,” Abude said.

The issue came forward when a Facebook group called “LTO Davao City/Dakop Update (Tinabangay Ta)” gained over 26,000 followers. The members post warnings about possible locations of CTTMO operations in Davao City to dodge getting a ticket.

“We will try to counter ini’g makita namo ang mga ingani. Maghimo mi’g counter mission pud ani kay dili kami ang duna’y problema. Ang duna’y problema ani tung mga motorista na naa diay sila grupo nga ingani na mu-commit jud sila to avoid speed limits,” he added.

The CTTMO deploys 628 enforcers all over the city, on top of the other deputized personnel and the PNP’s Highway Patrol Group.
