CTTMO to close roads for Duaw Davao

THE CITY Transport and Traffic Management Office announced road closures for the upcoming Duaw Davao 2024 festival this June.

On Wednesday’s Habi at Kape at Abreeza Ayala Malls on May 29, CTTMO chief Dionisio Abude said the events on June 23 (Duaw Davao Pride Parade) and 29 (Fiesta sa San Pedro Paghiusayaw) will entail road closures to avoid obstructions.

The parade on June 23, Sunday, will start at 4 p.m. from Roxas to San Pedro while the Paghiusayaw on June 29, Saturday, is scheduled at 6 p.m. at the San Pedro Square.

“So kining San Pedro Square is ang closure nato ani is kutob lang diha sa may C.M. Recto San Pedro up to Rizal Bolton ug Rizal Ponciano. Mao na siya ang dunay closure nato during kining sa Paghiusayaw,” he said.

He said they don’t need to close streets for the other events of Duaw Davao 2024 at Rizal Park, USEP gym, and DCRC. However, sufficient CTTMO personnel will be deployed to ensure a smoother flow of traffic.

Duaw Davao 2024 will run from June 20 to 30 comprising four components “Davao Tourism, the Feast of San Pedro, Pride Month, and Lifestyle and Leisure.” The City Tourism and Operations Office hopes the new activities will boost arrivals by 50% this year.

Abude said the public can expect more road closures for the Kadayawan and IRONMAN 2024 on Aug. 5 and Aug. 11.

Ang bagong IRONMAN karon dili na man padulong diri sa Tagum kung dili padulong didto sa Coronon. From coastal road, ang bike padulong didto sa Coronon Sea oil pero two-loop na siya kay this is 90km,” he said.
