CTTMO assures new scheme to ease traffic congestion

THE CITY Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) promises smoother vehicle flow at the Carlos P. Garcia Highway following an experimental scheme that prohibits motorists from turning left to Magtuod Road.

Instead, vehicles will be rerouted toward Langub Road due to the ongoing flyover construction by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

CTTMO chief Dionisio Abude said they carefully brainstormed possible alternate routes to ease the traffic congestion in the area.

So, starting Sept. 21, vehicles coming from Magtuod Road are not allowed to go left turn towards C.P. Garcia Highway. Instead, drivers must use the Ma-a Road, Ma-a Radio Station Road, and Ma-a Bypass Road for light vehicles toward Eden Street.

Vehicles coming from C.P. Garcia Highway (northbound) are not allowed to turn left to Magtuod Road and instead must use the Langub Road. Meanwhile, southbound vehicles must use the Ma-a Bypass Road.

There will also be no left turns for vehicles coming from Ma-a going towards C.P. Garcia Highway and instead use the Ma-a Bypass road.

The experimental traffic scheme will continue “until such time nga mu-declare ang DPWH nga pwede na siya ma-open sa public ‘tung ilang gibutang nga mga capping,” Abude said.
