Cops monitors inns, hotels

Police are closely monitoring inns, lodges, motels and hotels because a number of illegal drug transactions happen inside.

Speaking on Wednesday’s AFP-PNP press briefing, Police Regional Office 11 spokesperson Major Jason Baria said the management or personnel could likely be involved in the illegal drug operations.

The police spokesperson said they have identified some inns where drug pushers are operating, and those were already placed under intelligence monitoring.

Baria admitted that some drug deals happened inside establishments providing accommodations because they are private.

He said they are applying search warrants, if possible, if they can confirm the operation.

Capt. Nolan Tagsip, the spokesperson of Davao City Police Office, said they can file appropriate case against owners and management if there are unabated drug deals inside hotels.

He said they have already increased police visibility in those identified inns.

“We will talk to the security manager and we will inform them to beef up their security measures against sneaking illegal drugs,” Tagsip said.

On Sunday, Toril police busted two drug suspects inside Sampaguita at the corner of Quirino Avenue and Camus street where P2.5 million worth of shabu was confiscated.
