Content creators brave Davao’s adventure destinations

TO SUPPORT Davao Region’s latest positioning as an adventure destination, the Department of Tourism XI and GoPro partnered to host 13 top content creators from Australia, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines last Nov. 20 to 25 for a journey across the region for GoPro’s Creator Summit Asia Pacific.

The summit took the participants to action-packed white water rafting in Davao City; water tubing and spelunking in Davao del Sur; canyoneering and rappelling in Tagtugonan Falls in Davao del Norte; ultralight flying, diving/freediving, and skimboarding in Davao Oriental; and a relaxing pitstop in Pyalitan Falls, Bilawa Hot Waterfall and Lake Leonard in Davao de Oro.


They also engaged with the locals, sampled Davao’s exotic fruits and cuisines, and learned about the region’s cultural gems.

“This is a good opportunity for us to showcase Davao as a region with a diverse menu of heart-pounding adventures from our waters and shores, to our jungles and peaks. This will also help kickstart our latest campaign in positioning the region as a safe and fun adventure destination, ” said DOT Davao regional director Tanya Rabat Tan.

The upcoming Davao Adventure Challenge, a year-long campaign of DOT Davao Region, will spotlight thrilling escapades in different cities and provinces in the region. 

During their six-day, five-night adventure, the influencers were equipped with GoPro’s latest flagship, the HERO12 Black, also dubbed as the “Official Camera of Fun”. Using its various groundbreaking features and unlimited creativity, they were able to capture vivid images and engaging videos of Davao’s inimitable spirit of action, fun, and adventure and shared them with hundreds of thousands of social media followers.

“The GoPro Creator Summit APAC was a journey like no other, transcending the boundaries of adventure and creativity. Our creators were armed with an array of resources, including their own HERO12 Black, the perfect companion to capture every thrilling moment,” said Rick Loughery, Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications at GoPro.
