MORE THAN 1,400 candidates across the region have filed their candidacies for various positions, according to the Commission on Elections XI.
Atty. Gay Enumerables, acting regional director of Comelec XI, said the candidates for the first congressional district include:
Rex Labis (Independent), Janeth Jabines (Independent), incumbent Congressman Paolo “Polong” Duterte (Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod), PBA partylist representative Atty. Margarita “Migs” Nograles (Independent), and Maria Victoria “Mags” Maglana (Independent).
For the second district, the candidates are Melogen Montesclaros (Independent), Councilor Augusto Javier “Javi” Campos (PFP), and Omar Vincent Duterte (HTL).
In the third district, candidates include incumbent Congressman Isidro Ungab (HTL), Lito Montreal (Independent), incumbent Councilor Wilberto Al-ag (Lakas-CMD), former Congressman Ruy Elias Lopez (PFP), and Dindo Robert Plaza (PFP), along with 68 councilors.
For the mayoral race, the candidates are Bishop Rodolfo Cubos (Independent), former President Rodrigo Duterte (HTL), Roweno Caballes (Independent), Karlo Alexei Nograles (Independent), Joselito Tan (Independent), and Jonathan Julaine (WPP, LPP).
For the vice mayoral position, the candidates include Rhodora Barcena (Independent), Richard Alcebar (Independent), Mayor Sebastian Duterte (HTL), and Councilor Bernie Al-ag (Independent).
“This is not yet final for other areas in the region because we need to submit this to the higher office,” she said.
In total, approximately 1,437 candidates have filed their certificates of candidacy across the Davao region for various positions.
