Comelec XI maximizes voter registrations in schools

THE COMMISSION on Elections (Comelec) XI will conduct registration for the 2025 National and Local Elections in various schools to reach as many voters as it can.

During the iSpeak forum on Apr. 11, Atty. Gay Enumerables, Comelec XI regional director, said they also organized voter educational campaigns to spread awareness for new registrants.

“In fact, we conduct voter education and registration programs in some schools in the Davao Region and our lecturer came from Manila. We try to accommodate them every once a month,” Enumerables said.

She also mentioned that among the schools identified are one in Davao Occidental, Jesus Soriano National High School and University of Southeastern Philippines in Davao City, and another school located in Tagum City.

Paisa-isa nagaadto ‘ta sa mga eskwelahan, other than that, ang atoang mga election officers naga-conduct usab og voters registration on their own,” she added.

Also, Enumerables shared that Comelec is considering establishing voting precincts at malls for the upcoming elections to make it more convenient for voters by avoiding long queues on election day.

“Some of the malls that usually cater are SM, and then NCCC Mall, Victoria Plaza. Siguro partial lang kay ang classroom precinct ana, puno-puno gyud na siya. But then they may also cater for a small barangay and ginatan-aw pa lang na nila,” she added.
