Colorum

THE LAND Transportation Office (LTO) XI reports that an estimated 60 to 70 percent of vehicles operating in the Davao Region are unregistered, with motorcycles being the primary offenders.

LTO XI operations officer Yuri Lim revealed that in 2024, the agency handled 58,111 apprehension cases being paid, with 55,014 cases of apprehension.

Lim also reported that 1,804 unregistered vehicles and 134 “colorum” units (vehicles operating without proper permits) were apprehended in 2024.

While comparative data from 2023 is unavailable, Lim believes the number of apprehensions is relatively low due to ongoing registration campaigns and caravans.

The majority of unregistered vehicles were motorcycles (1,187), followed by private cars (160), SUVs (144), tricycles (118), and trucks (101).

LTO XI continues to focus on vehicle registration and driver’s license renewals to improve compliance and road safety in the region.
