Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao inaugurates new facilities

PHILIPPINE Coast Guard commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan inaugurated the Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) Retirees Assistance Building and other new facilities on Friday, Sept. 27.

Gavan also presided over CGDSEM’s 39th-anniversary celebration, leading the inauguration of key district facilities.

The first-of-its-kind Retirees Assistance Building is a significant step in supporting the organization’s retired personnel.

CGDSEM spokesperson Lt. Commander Angel Tobias said this new facility demonstrates the District’s deep commitment to honoring and caring for its veterans.

The ribbon-cutting and inauguration ceremonies, graced by Commodore Rejard Marfe, commander of Coast Guard District Southeastern Mindanao, took place on Sept. 27.

Marfe expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to making these projects a reality.

The Retirees Assistance Building will serve as a hub for various services tailored to the needs of PCG retirees.

In addition, two newly refurbished and renamed facilities were also unveiled: the Maalab Hall (formerly Phoenix Hall) and the Sinaglahi Lounge (formerly the Executive Lounge). These modernized spaces are now better equipped to serve the District’s growing needs and reflect CGDSEM’s commitment to professionalism and excellence.

“These inaugurations not only represent a significant upgrade in facilities but also reinforce the District’s enduring commitment to both active and retired Coast Guard personnel,” said Marfe. “We want to ensure they are supported in every phase of their service and beyond.”
