THE COAST Guard District Southeastern Mindanao (CGDSEM) reported zero maritime casualties during the Christmas celebrations from Dec. 24 to 25, 2024.
CGDSEM spokesperson Lt Commander Angel Tobias said this milestone reflects the dedication and hard work of our personnel who remained vigilant throughout the holiday season.
Tobias said, “Enhanced patrols, the strict enforcement of maritime safety protocols, and close coordination with local government units and maritime stakeholders ensured a safe and secure environment for all.”
“We commend the cooperation of our passengers, vessel operators, and the entire maritime community in adhering to safety guidelines. Your support is instrumental in maintaining safe waters for everyone,” she said
“As we continue to celebrate the holiday season, CGDSEM reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding lives and property at sea. Let us all remain cautious and vigilant in the days ahead,” she added.
