City Tourism budgets P42-M for Pasko Fiesta

THE CITY Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) allocated an estimated P42 million budget for the 2023 Pasko Fiesta, a month-long Christmas event. 

At the Habi at Kape Forum on Nov. 22, CTOO head Jennifer Romero said the budget will cover all of the Pasko Fiesta’s City Hall decorations, competitions, and prizes. 

“That’s a definite budget for Pasko Fiesta-related events sa city. The budget for the Pasko Fiesta is solely from the local government unit (LGU),” Romero said. 

This year’s Pasko Fiesta will showcase the vibrance of colors through the theme, “Kainit sa Gugma, Kasinag sa Kasadya.

“Our storyline is still ‘coming home for Christmas’, all about family, kids, and more on community and togetherness, because we believe that this is the first Christmas na wala nata’y restrictions, so we’ll be expecting that this a grand Christmas,” Romero said.  

Some of the major events for the Pasko Fiesta were the Banda Dasig, Koro sa Pasko, Rondal Sayaw sa Pasko, and Sing-a-Long ni Pulong.

Romero said they will also be introducing new sets of events such as the Parada sa Pasko, a Kadayawan-inspired competition interpreting Christmas through floats; and Paghinugyaw – Sugat sa Bag-ong Tubig, a New Year’s Eve party to be participated by various LGUs. 

The Pasko Fiesta 2023 will officially open on Nov. 28, Tuesday, 6 p.m. at Rizal Park, Davao City.
