City police to secure Eid’l Fitr observance

FOLLOWING the Ramadan month, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) announced the deployment of 166 personnel to ensure a safe and peaceful Eid’l Fitr celebration for the Muslim community.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, the DCPO spokesperson, confirmed a sufficient number of officers will be stationed at mosques and prayer areas.

These areas include the People’s Park, Agro-Foundation College of the Philippines open football field, Mercy Islamic Foundation, Mini Forest Boulevard Grand Mosque, Piapi Mosque, Davao City Islamic Center, and Ecoland Mosque.

As per the Davao Police Regional Office (PRO XI) mandate and the PNP directives, all city police stations will augment their police assistance desks (PADs) for increased visibility at religious sites.

Tuazon urged Davao City residents, particularly Muslim brothers and sisters, to maintain the city’s culture of security for a smooth and trouble-free celebration.

An estimated 3,000 Muslim community members are anticipated to gather for Eid’l Fitr prayers.
