City enjoys peaceful Holy Week

THE DAVAO City Police Office said Holy Week ended peacefully and orderly as it recorded no major crime that would deter the yearly Catholic tradition.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, the DCPO spokesperson, reported on Sunday, March 31, that no untoward incidents were recorded during the religious holiday.

“There were no security concerns, especially in traditionally crowded areas like churches, seaports, bus terminals, and other venues for Holy Week activities,” Captain Tuazon said.

This positive outcome comes after the DCPO deployed nearly 30,000 personnel throughout the week, including law enforcers, auxiliaries, and force multipliers.

She said 27,997 officers ensured security at churches, transportation hubs, airports, major roads, mosques, malls, public markets, parks, grottos, and other religious sites.

Tuazon said the focus of these deployments extended to ensuring the safety of families and tourists visiting beaches and resorts within the city.

The DCPO’s proactive measures and strong police presence contributed to a safe and secure Holy Week celebration in the city.
