Chinese national arrested for fake identity

THE NATIONAL Bureau of Investigation (NBI) XI arrested a 21-year-old Chinese national for allegedly using fake documents to apply for a Philippine passport at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) office here.

NBI XI director Atty. Arcelito Albao revealed in a press conference that the suspect used the alias Hengson Jabillez Limosnero and presented questionable documents, including a bogus birth certificate, Philippine National ID, and driver’s license.

The arrest stemmed from a tip-off received by the NBI on Tuesday, July 9th. A DFA duty officer reported that Qiu had been caught with falsified documents and had provided false information on his passport application form.

NBI agents, in coordination with the Bureau of Immigration, promptly responded to the DFA office located at SM City Mall. Upon arrival, DFA XI head Marichu Mabao endorsed the suspect into NBI custody.

Albao said the suspect, originally from Fujian, China, also raised suspicion during the DFA interview due to inconsistencies in his answers and his inability to speak the local language fluently.

The NBI plans to charge the suspect with falsification of public documents, perjury, violation of the Passport Law, and concealment of true name. All these offenses are bailable.
