OVER P30,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes were seized by Task Force Davao from a bus passenger around 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Sirawan checkpoint in Toril District.
Meanwhile, another individual was arrested at Lacson checkpoint in Calinan when he allegedly yielded shabu during an inspection by security officers
Captain John Louie Dema-ala, the Task Force Davao spokesperson, identified the suspect as Jaime D. Manalao, 47, married, a resident of Purok Lansones, Barangay Zone 1, Digos City.
He said Manalao was onboard a public utility bus traveling toward Davao City when intercepted.
Meanwhile, at around 10:50 p.m. of the same date, Jay Cris E Sajulga, 40, married, a resident of Mailag, Valencia City, Bukidnon, was heading toward the city in a gray Isuzu D-max bearing plate number BAC 2615.
Intercepted from his possession were three sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
The suspects and evidence were immediately turned over to the authorities for proper filing of appropriate charges.
