COUNCILORS Augusto Javier Javi Campos and Wilberto Al-ag officially stepped down from their positions as the chairpersons of their respective committees on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Previously, Campos was the committee chair on international relations and committee on housing, rural and urban development. Meanwhile, Al-ag was the committee chair on social services.
Campos tendered his resignation on Oct. 4, three days before he filed his certificate of candidacy as representative of the city’s 2nd Congressional District on Oct. 7.
“I want to express my appreciation for the opportunity of Chairmanship given to me. It has been an honor to spearhead those committees and I am grateful for the experience,” Campos in a letter addressed to the vice mayor.
Al-ag, on the other hand, resigned effective Oct. 10, two days after he registered his name as a representative of the 3rd Congressional District.
“I am very thankful for all the opportunities and experiences that I gained all the years of my Chairmanship in my Committee. I am equally thankful to my colleagues of this 20th Council for providing me unconditional support, especially to those who extended their concern during this challenging time of my life,” he said in the letter.
Councilor Temujin Ocampo will replace Campos as the committee chair on housing; Councilor Al Ryan Alejandre is the new committee chair on international relations, while Councilor Pilar Braga will head the committee on social services.
