THE CITY government has reminded business establishments to scan Safe Davao Quick Response (DQR) codes or face the possibility of getting penalized.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson, made the call after taking note of some establishments not implementing the policy even when the number of COVID-19 cases has continued to rise.

“Establishments became very lenient on the Safe DQR. Ang hindi nila alam our DQR monitoring is still very strong. As far as I know may mga identified na po tayo na establishments na violator, then they will be notified, then pag hindi parin sila mag follow after three violations, may mga karampatang penalties but it is managed and it is monitored by our prevention and enforcement team,” she said as she cited Executive Order No. 2 Series of 2021 which mandates the scanning fo the code to monitor the movement of residents.

Schlosser said since the police is law,  dapat po talaga lahat ng establishments should follow the mandatory scanning of the Safe DQR of their employees, their clients, and on all other people na pumapasok and lumalabas sa kanilang establishments.”

She said the policy helps in tracking down those who have been infected with the virus.

The strategy, she added, is among the steps in trying to slowdown the spread of the virus even as health experts of the city expect that the surge will take place before the end of the month.
