Six passengers injured after truck collision in Buda

 

SIX PEOPLE were injured and taken to hospital after a commuter bus collided with a wing van truck at Purok 12, Barangay Buda, Marilog District, around 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19.

The Davao Police Regional Office identified the injured passengers as Webster Ayunar Manuel (bus driver), 58, married, a resident of Quezon, Bukidnon; Alwaleed Guro, 16, and Alnaisah Guro, 24, both residents of 25-C Poblacion; Linelda Blancia, 53,  Gregorio Blancia, 57, Gee Blancia, 19, all residents of Dipolo Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur. 

They were all brought to Southern Philippines Medical Center Hospital for medical attention by the responding 911 personnel.

The bus carrying 22 passengers collided with a truck driven by Rolly Ligaspo, 31, a resident of Sta. Cruz, Agusan del Sur. 

The investigation showed that before the incident, the truck loaded with 500 sacks of fertilizer was traveling along Davao-Bukidnon National Highway, heading toward Bukidnon.

Upon reaching the bend at Purok 12, Barangay Buda, the driver reportedly overshot and crashed onto the left side front portion of the bus, coming from the opposite direction heading toward the city.

Due to the impact, the bus swerved to the right portion of the road but fell into the open canal.
