THE NATIONAL Economic Development Authority (NEDA) XI said the Davao River Bridge will be passable after two years as its mobilization had already started last December 2023.
Maria Lourdes Lim, NEDA XI regional director said the notice to proceed with the construction was already issued to the winning contractor.
In a previous report, the Department of Public Works and Highways inked a civil works contract with the China Road and Bridge Corporation for the construction of the Davao River Bridge project worth P3.126 billion, signed last Nov. 3.
“The construction of the Bucana bridge will last for a period of two years. We can expect that the section from the coastal road from Bago all the way to Sta. Ana, will be completed and be passable after two years,” Lim said.
The Davao River Bridge, also known as the Bucana Bridge, will be 1,340 meters long and involves the construction of a four-lane, six-span extradosed bridge, a link road, traffic engineering, lighting, and other ancillary amenities.
