A BICYCLE rider died on the spot after he was run over by a dump truck along MacArthur Highway, Matina Crossing, around 5:22 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
The police have yet to identify the said victim due to a lack of ID but was described as older than 20 years old.
Meanwhile, the driver of the dump truck was identified as Dino Ugos Mejares Jr., 34, single, and a resident of Purok 3, Lubogan, Toril.
According to the investigation, when the dump truck was about to reach the intersection of Matina Crossing, it collided with the bicycle rider who was crossing the road.
For now, the dump truck driver is under the custody of the Talomo police and will possibly face a case for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
