ACTING Mayor Sebastian Duterte has urged the police to continue uphonding their mandate of safeguarding the city and its people.
At the inauguration of the new building of the Davao City Police Office, aside from congratulating the office and the Department of Public Works and Highways, Duterte, who is set to take the reins of the city starting July 1, said the new structure should inspire the police to continue enhancing its work of ensuring that the city and its people are safe.
“May this new facility inspire you further to uphold your mandate,” the incoming mayor said adding that the people of the city and the city government have trusted their police.
“Do not fear to fulfill your duty, the local government of Davao City will always be behind you,” he added.
At the symbolic cutting of ribbon for the building, Duterte was joined by DPWH-XI Regional Director Engr. Rey Peter B. Gille, former DCPO chief director Kirby John Kraft, DCPO City Director Alberto Lupaz, and City Engineer’s Office Head Joseph Dominic Felizarta.
The building had a funding of P163.8 million form the national government through the DPWH as its construction started on July 14, 2021 and was finished in 420 days.
Gille said the completion date of the project was three months ahead of the deadline as it has state-of-the-art amenities.
It has a mast tower, a center stage, a spacious multipurpose hall, a CCTV system, air conditioning and ventilating system, public announcement system, fire alarm and sprinkler system, and elevators.
