Baste asks DPWH XI to coordinate with CTTMO

MAYOR Sebastian Duterte called the attention of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and contractors to coordinate closely with the City Transport and Traffic Management Board (CTTMB) for road projects.

He said these agencies and companies must secure the necessary permits before conducting any road improvements in the city.

“We have noticed passable roads that are in good condition, which you already started to break and excavate while there are still a lot of road projects that are left unfinished,” the mayor said in a statement posted on social media.

He added that these typically unannounced projects are “causing inconvenience and pose risk to the safety of the public.”

With that, the mayor said, “We expect your immediate action and strict compliance regarding this matter.”

It can be remembered during the opening of the 87th Araw ng Dabaw celebration, Duterte urged Davaoeños to be patient with the city’s traffic situation, acknowledging that the Philippines is still a “developing country” and emphasizing the need for national government support for infrastructure projects like massive transport.

Meanwhile, TIMES is still waiting for the response of DPWH XI spokesperson Dean Ortiz regarding the matter.
