Authorities collect P1.2-M in fines on traffic infractions, modified mufflers

POLICE collected more than P1 million in fines from their continued operations against modified mufflers from Jan. 28 to Feb. 3.

Davao City Police Office chief Col Alberto Lupaz said their operational units issued a total of 15 CTC citations on violators of modified mufflers, resulting in fines amounting to P7,500 and P25,000 for temporary operator’s permit (TOP) issuances.

Furthermore, dedicated teams conducted 350 operations related to RA 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, leading to the issuance of 223 TOPs generating a total collection of P462,924.

The police enforcement Ordinance 0334-12 or the Comprehensive Transport and Traffic Code of Davao City, resulted in 556 operations and the issuance of 1,546 citation tickets with a substantial collection of P754,400 in fines.

Collectively, the efforts have yielded an impressive total of P1,249,824 in fines from all violators. 

“This significant achievement has greatly contributed to creating a safer and more orderly environment for the residents of Davao City,” Lupaz said.
