ARMY Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido has called on all troops under the 6th Infantry Division, along with other stakeholders, to ensure a peaceful and orderly Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliament election in 2025.
The historic election, the first regular one for the region, will be held on May 12, 2025, across various municipalities in Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Cotabato City.
The BARMM election will coincide with the 2025 Philippine general election.
In preparation, the Army, in partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP), will deploy personnel and resources to strengthen the election contingency force nationwide.
Lt. Gen. Galido reminded Army troops of their crucial role in the upcoming polls, emphasizing their right to vote and their responsibility to ensure a safe, orderly, and peaceful election process.
He also reiterated the military’s non-partisan stance, directing troops to avoid engaging in politically motivated or controversial posts on social media.
