Apo jungolfers storm 4th Minda Meet

Davao City – Jungolfers from Apo Golf and Country Club stole the limelight by winning separate age group divisions at the close of the 4th Mindanao Meet jungolf competitions, Saturday at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club.

Alexander Bisera led Apo Golf’s charge winning the Division A Boys 15-17 years-old division over teammate Lloyd Labrador. Bisera scored 147 points on a two-day output scoring 74 (35-39) and 73 (34-39) while Labrador wound-up with the runner-up honors with 152 from rounds of 78 (38-40) and 74 (37-37).

Also winning for the Toril-based club are Jared Saban who capped the Division D 8 years-old and below title with an 89 (44-45) on top off younger brother Laurence who placed second with 102 (53-49). Travis Cadungog 205 (101-104) and Aaron Salebat 215 (111-104) also added Apo’s winning ways in the Division C Boys 9 to 11 years-old bringing home the champion and first runner-up trophies, respectively while Llana Fe Pondias 168 (85-83) and Ashlee Maunta 178 (91-87) on a one-two finish in the Division B Girls 12 to 14 years-old.

Completing Apo Golf’s winning list saw Jia Feliz Villorente who placed runner-up in the Division D Girls 8 years-old and below with 104 (49-55), Jelena Jesu Villorente, runner-up in the Division C Girls 9 to 11 years-old with 213 (110-103), Ken Rowell Zunio, runner-up in the Division B Boys 12-14 years-old with 154 (76-78).

Martina Minoza of the Minoza Foundation/Del Monte Golf Club shared the limelight by winning the Division A Girls 15-17 years-old trophy when she carded a 157 from rounds of 76 (40-36) and 81 (40-41) leaving past teammate Raiah Rheaume at second place with 166 coming off with similar 83s (41-42; 43-40).

Brittannika Golf’s Paulin Tamayo topped the Division D Girls 8 years-old and below with a 94 (46-48) and Del Monte’s Velinda Castil had her golden finish in the Division C Girls 9 to 11 years-old with 173 (85-88).
Trophies and special designed medals were given to the winners by Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club general manager Tommy Inigo and board of director Ting Castillo during the awarding rites.
