Anti-drug ops

 

A TOP regional-level target was killed while six other regional-level targets and another were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted in Quezon Boulevard on Thursday evening, Nov. 30.

According to the police, more than P700,000 worth of shabu were seized in the operations.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, the Davao City Police Office spokesperson, identified the slain suspect as Norhan Monib, a resident of Purok 4, Isla Verde, who was killed after he allegedly fought the police.

His wife, Darlene Monique Saines Monib, was arrested in the operation around 8:20 p.m.

Police reportedly seized 13 sachets of shabu weighing more or less 55 grams worth P374,000 from the two. Further seized were P15,000 buy-bust money, a .45 Remington Rand pistol, seven pieces of cartridge cases and two slugs from the same gun, and mobile phones.

In an earlier operation, six other suspects were also arrested in Purok 3, Isla Verde, Quezon Boulevard, Barangay 23-C, around 7:40 p.m.

Police identified them as Najieb Mohamad, a top 2 regional-level target; Kamal Monib (top 5); Nasrudin Antog (top 7); Gani Dulos (top 8); Saed Dimala (top 9), and Junaid Tahil (top 10).

Operatives of the Sta. Ana Police Station (PS1), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI, and the National Bureau of Investigation XI conducted the joint buy-bust operation, resulting in the arrest.

The joint team confiscated P8,000 buy-bust money and 18 sachets of shabu weighing 50 grams worth P340,000.

The suspects are now under the custody of the Sta. Ana Police Station in violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
