THE city government is adding another site to the night vaccination drive against COVID-19 so that more people can be served.
Dr. Michelle Schlosser, COVID-19 Task Force spokesperson, said the proposal was approved on Monday after the task force noted the good response to the program.
“I suggested it also sa COVID-19 Task Force last Monday and napag-usapan nga there might be another site of Bakuna Nights sa Toril. Hopefully, it will address sa south side napod nga trabahante,” Schlosser said as the program is being implemented only at one school in Barrio Obrero at present.
This developed as the city council-initiated vaccination program benefited 51,567 individuals as of October 5.
“Padayon gihapon tong mga pagpabakuna. Before ang atoang strategy of combating COVID-19 is PDITR – prevention, detection, isolation, treatment, reintegration but karon PDITR plus, ang plus ang vaccination. We have to make sure all these strategies ma-implement sa mga komunidad,” Schlosser added.
Although the date of the implementation of the night vaccination in another site is still being finalized, Schlosser said this will help the city in achieving herd immunity.
“In the days to come, I’ll be the one to update on this one apart from the vaccination cluster. Hopefully, mahitabo siya,” she added even as the body is looking at holding the activity every night instead of just every Friday night.
Aside from the vaccination activities at night, the city government has also offered incentives to those who need assistance just so they can make themselves available for the program.
