Another rape victim surfaces vs Coast Guard member

ANOTHER female model surfaced and filed a rape complaint against the Philippine Coast Guard personnel earlier arrested for sexual assault. 

The National Bureau of Investigation  South Eastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-SEMRO) presented the 23-year-old victim at its headquarters along J.P. Laurel on Thursday, April 27, while helping her file the case.

Vicente Essex Minguez, NBI-SEMRO head agent of the case, said the victim positively identified PCG Davao member Khalid Abdullah as the one who raped her.

Aside from the rape cases, Minguez said that Abdullah faces cases of human trafficking, usurpation of authority, and illegal possession of firearms.

The victim decided to come forward after seeing the report on social media about another 21-year-old freelance model who was allegedly raped twice by Abdullah.

According to Minguez, the victim was brought to the darkened portion of Barangay Cabantian, where she was raped at midnight on Nov. 29. It was more or less the exact spot where the 21-year-old was also sexually assaulted.

He said the suspect enticed his victim to be an usherette for the Philippine Coast Guard program. Then suspect will point a weapon and then take them to a place where they will be raped.

The victim narrated that the suspect threatened to kill her and her family, which dissuaded her from reporting the crime to the authorities.
