THE REMAINING six individuals hospitalized on Monday evening for alleged food poisoning in Marilog District were already discharged by the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), according to a police official.
In an interview on Wednesday, Major Nelson Violan, commander of Marilog Police Station, said the six went home on Tuesday afternoon.
Eleven individuals, mostly kids, were rushed to the hospital on Monday evening after they were downed by food poisoning at Sitio Matigsalug.
Previously, Captain Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said they could not yet ascertain if the spaghetti was the cause of the food poisoning or the tubod (spring water).
But Violan said the spaghetti couldn’t have been contaminated since the one who brought the food and other workers also ate it and were not affected.
“Nagkuha pa ug sample sa source sa tubig ang taga health center gahapon. Ipa laboratory test pa nila,” he said. “I-follow-up pa namo ang result sa test.”
The patients were identified as Maricel Misa, 32; Mariel Misa, 1; Janelito Misa, 7; Norbert Misa, 9; Romy Antogon, 35; Beverlyn Antogon, 28; JP Antogon, 7; Kimberly Antogon, 3; Robelyn Antogon, 1; Axel Jhon Dalac, 6; and Rey Colihi Dalac, 16.
According to the report, their employer Geraldina Bocuya from Deca Homes Mintal brought spaghetti when she visited their place at noon on Monday.
But after a few hours, the patients complained of stomach ache and started vomiting. Central 911 rescuers immediately responded and transported the victims to the hospital.
