IN TODAY’S fast-evolving media landscape, the power of video storytelling has never been more critical. From social media content and journalism to public information campaigns and independent filmmaking, the ability to craft compelling narratives through video is now an essential skill across industries.
Recognizing this urgent need, award-winning filmmaker Charliebebs Gohetia is set to lead a Basic Video Editing Workshop on June 21, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Timewrap Film Productions Studio in Davao City.
This hands-on workshop is open to everyone, including students, aspiring content creators, government communicators, PR practitioners, journalists, and media and film enthusiasts, and aims to equip participants with the fundamentals of video editing and storytelling using digital tools.
“Stories told through video command attention and create impact. In today’s media landscape, a good command of the tools of the trade brings success to communication endeavors,” said Gohetia.
With a career that spans award-winning films, major studio projects, and international film festivals, Gohetia brings a wealth of practical knowledge and creative insight to the session. Participants can expect both technical guidance and creative mentorship in crafting narratives that resonate.
“After being in Manila for so long, I am excited to come home to Davao to contribute to the film community and nurture peers and fellows eager to pursue video as their medium. There are so many good stories to tell!” he added.
Gohetia, fondly referred to in the community as “Bebs,” is a director, screenwriter, and editor known for films such as The Natural Phenomenon of Madness, The Thank You Girls, and I Love You. Thank You. His work spans independent cinema and commercial films, often focused on regional identity, social narratives, and queer storytelling.
