Two salesladies, one of them critically wounded, were robbed in two separate incidents in less than 24 hours over the weekend in Talomo District.
Members of the Talomo Police Precinct are still conducting operations against the two unidentified robbers who are still at large.
The first incident happened in Barangay Catalunan Pequeno around 5 a.m. Saturday, as the robber victimized and wounded a saleslady attending a burger stall.
The second incident happened in MGR Teachers Village in Barangay Matina Aplaya at around 1 a.m. Sunday, as the robber attacked a saleslady of a mall who was on her way home.
Chief Insp. Ronald Lao, Talomo Police Precinct commander identified the victims as Michelle Marcos Tabog and Vina Torente Necosia.
Tabog, 33, is a burger store service crew of an Angel’s Burger stall in Catalunan Pequeno. A resident of Barangay Ondanao, Penaplata District in Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte, Tabog temporarily stays in Barangay Subasta, Calinan District.
Necosia, 18, is a saleslady of Gaisano Mall Davao in Bajada. She resides in MGR Teachers Village.
Tabog is in critically condition as she was stabbed by the attacker twice – once in her neck and another in her back. Necosia was able to parry the robber’s attack and was able to stab her attacker.
On Saturday at Catalunan Pequeno, a man pretended to be a customer arrived at the burger stand at 5:19 a.m. The man pulled out a knife and forcibly entered the stall. He declared a robbery and demanded the money.
The victim gave the daily sales, reportedly amounting to P7,000.
But before leaving, the attacker stabbed the victim in her neck and back.
The attacker then fled towards a nearby grassy area.
The victim was still able to go out from the burger stall and shout for help.
Concerned citizens helped the victim. A taxi driver rushed her to the Davao Adventist Hospital in Bangkal, Barangay Talomo Proper. Due to the severity of her wounds, she was later transferred to the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
A witness described to the police the attacker to be 23 to 24 years old, with fair complexion and medium height. He was bearing a spiky hair, possibly newly cut. He was wearing shorts and t-shirt during the attack.
Reports said the attacker was a certain “MacMac” but police have yet to establish the identity of the robber pending the pursuit operation.
On the second robbery incident, victim Necosia was on her way home when the attacker appeared out of nowhere at MGR Teachers Village.
Armed with a kitchen knife, the attacker approached the victim from behind and subsequently declared a hold up.
The robber then forcibly took the victim’s Cloud Phone worth P2,000 and P300 money.
However, the victim fought back. She was able to disarm the attacker.
The victim then stabbed the attacker, hitting him in his left arm.
The wounded attacker hurriedly left, running towards the interior portion of Pioneer Village.
The suspect was described to be 20 to 25 years old, slim, and 5’3” tall. He had long hair. He was wearing a red t-shirt and a brown jeans during the robbery.
Responding police officers recovered in the crime scene an eight-inch kitchen knife without a handle.
Lao said they have combed through all the hospitals in the city as the robber may seek medical attention for the injury he sustained.
Police are now reviewing the footage of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) installed within the crime scene of the two incidents for possible identification of the robbers.
