WE OFTEN hear the phrase “All brides are beautiful on their wedding day.” But Maria was even more than radiant that day when she became the bride of Cesar Garvida—her eyes sparkling with excitement and promise of what the future holds.
The wedding invitation carried a Wishing Well from both the bride and groom, the future Mr. & Mrs. Garvida, which we share here: “Our fairy tale and dreams have come true, and our most special gift is to share them with you. With all that we have, we’ve been truly blessed. Your presence and prayers are all we request. Our day is complete by having you as our guest.”
Maria and Cesar, who reside in Los Angeles, California, had to wait for three long years to fulfill this dream wedding in the Philippines, waiting for COVID to disappear completely.
Maria’s parents have their roots in the Philippines, so they were eager to celebrate their marriage with relatives and close friends in Davao. Maria’s grandfather, Dr. Pedro Morales, Sr., was a well-known dentist in Davao City whose wife, Elisa Martin Morales was from Camiling, Tarlac who had settled in Davao with her family. Maria’s dad, Dr. Pedrito Morales, Jr. is also a dentist by profession, settled in LA with his wife Emma, and raised their children abroad.
The wedding ceremony was held at the St. Joseph the Worker Parish Church in Barrio Pampanga, Sasa, Davao City on December 28, 2024. Dusit Thani Davao’s Ballroom was transformed into a garden brimming with white orchids, roses, lilies, baby’s breath, and chrysanthemums. Maria took care of the details of the arrangements and the program with the help of organizers who did everything perfectly for the event.
Dr, “Toti” Morales delivered a heart-warming and touching speech for his daughter Maria, who held back her tears, listening to such loving words from her dad.

The couple, Maria Teresa and Cesar Garvida returned to Los Angeles, California, USA, to fulfill their dreams of raising a family and were overjoyed at having celebrated their much-longed grand wedding in Davao City with relatives and friends.
