THE DEVOTEES of the Poong Jesus Nazareno in the City of Davao will be celebrating the 10th Fiesta of the Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno on Jan. 9, 2025.
The devotees of the Poong Jesus Nazareno are proud to share that the Archdiocese of Davao has in custody the Official Replica of the Poong Jesus Nazareno given to us by the priests of the Minor Basilica and the National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno.
The replica is now enshrined at the Our Lady of Peñafrancia GKK Chapel, located at DECA Homes Esperanza Tigatto, Buhangin, Davao City. The said chapel is under the canonical jurisdiction of San Alfonso Maria de Liguori Parish, Mandug.
Year 2025 is very special for the devotees here in Davao as they are celebrating the 10th Fiesta and also the 10th Anniversary of the first Arrival of the Official Replica Image in the Davao Region.
To make this year special and memorable, the devotees have decided to bring the Nazareno closer to His people by bringing him to 3 parish churches of the Archdiocese of Davao.
- On Jan. 2-3, the Nazareno will visit Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Parish, Bajada fronting Abreeza Mall, Bajada.
- On January 4-5, the Nazareno will visit the Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish, Indangan, Buhangin.
- On January 6-8, the Nazareno will visit St. Mary of the Perpetual Rosary Parish, Cabantian, Buhangin.
- On January 8, the Nazareno will finally visit San Alfonso Maria de Liguori Parish, Mandug for the last day of the Novena Mass.
- On January 9, the Feast of the Poong Jesus Nazareno, there will be a Solemn Traslacion Procession starting from San Alfonso Parish, Mandug, and back to the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Chapel, Tigatto at 8.00 am.
A fiesta mass will be celebrated at the Chapel at 10 a.m and 6 p.m.
Since this year’s Nazareno Fiesta is dedicated to the youth and young families, we encourage the youth and the families to join in the celebrations.
We also encourage devotees to bring their own replicas to be blessed by the priest during the Novena and Fiesta Masses.
Hundreds are expected to join in this solemn celebration here in the city. We hope that the devotion to the miraculous Nazareno and its annual Fiesta will revitalize and renew the faith of the Dabawenyos towards the Risen Lord amidst the challenges and trials they face.
