THE 20TH City Council approved on Monday the city’s Supplemental Budget 4 for the grant of service recognition incentive (SRI) to qualified city government employees.
The SB4 which amounted to P 47.9 million was approved during the special session on Monday, December 23, two days before Christmas Day.
In the SB4 as proposed by councilor Myrna Dalodo- Ortiz, a total of 2,395 employees have been identified as eligible and will benefit from receiving the incentive.
The budget is specifically for the SRI as stipulated in Administrative Order No. 27 issued by the Office of the President on December 12.
With this, the Department of Budget and Management issued DBM Budget Circular No. 2024-7 on Dec. 17, which required a grant of one-time SRI with a uniform rate of P20,000 for each qualified government employee for the CY 2024.
The amount required for SRI, according to AO 27, is charged to the available FY 2024 appropriations or surplus upon the enactment by the City Council.
SB4 is sourced from the reversion of current year’s appropriation for personal services of the offices of the city government.
This year, the city council passed four supplemental budgets, SB 1 amounting to P2.21 billion; SB 2 with P639 million, and SB 3 with almost P434 million.
