THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reported that there was no untoward incident during the inauguration of local officials headed by Mayor-elect Sebastian “Baste” Duterte on Monday.

Col. Alberto P. Lupaz, DCPO acting director, said the personnel of the office and other members of the security cluster of the city made sure that all the necessary steps were taken during the inauguration as members of the First Family, led by President Rodrigo R. Duterte and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte, were in attendance.

Lupaz thanked the members of the security cluster for ensuring the safe holding of the event as a 2,309-strong police force both from the Police Regional Office 11 and DCPO joined the other security units in securing the event.

Based on the security plan, a three-tiered defense system was implemented as those who witnessed the event were ordered not to wear clothes that could hide weapons and other dangerous materials and were not bringing with them backpacks.

The security plan was similar to the one implemented during the oath-taking of outgoing Mayor Sara Duterte on June 19.
