DCPO intensifies crackdown on crime

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) conducted numerous operations during the week from Dec. 1 to 7, 2024 as part of its intensified campaign against crime.

Acting city director Col Hansel Marantan said the operations resulted in the arrest of 85 individuals.

  • In anti-illegal drug operations, 31 drug personalities were arrested, 176.721 grams of shabu (worth P1,201,702.80) seized, and 491.29 grams of marijuana (worth P58,954.80) confiscated.
  • In its anti-illegal gambling operations, one suspect was arrested, P1,290.00 in bet money was seized, and one case was filed.
  • In manhunt operations, 53 wanted persons were arrested, including 21 most wanted individuals.

Meanwhile, authorities also confiscated one firearm under “Oplan Katok” and three other unlicensed guns were surrendered.

Marantan said the police remain committed to ensuring the safety and security of all Davaoeños and will continue its relentless pursuit of criminals.
