70 individuals arrested in PRO XI’s campaign vs. loose firearms in November

SEVENTY individuals were arrested by the Police Regional Office XI in its campaign against loose firearms in November 2024.

Brig Gen Leon Victor Rosete, PRO XI regional director, said they conducted 24,024 police operations, resulting in the confiscation, surrender, or recovery of 163 firearms.

To ensure accountability, PRO XI filed 56 cases in court, underscoring the region’s commitment to enforcing the law and addressing illegal possession of firearms.

Rosete emphasized these operations align with PNP Chief Rommel Francisco D. Marbil’s directives to remove illegal firearms from communities.

“These efforts not only reduce the potential for violence but also promote a culture of responsibility and accountability among gun owners,” he stated.

He said the support of the local government units, stakeholders, and the public is essential to reducing crimes in the communities.
