A CITY Health Officer reminded the public the free vasectomy program set on Friday, Nov. 29 is open for walk-ins.

Dr. Laredo P. Rabang, Tugbok District Health officer and non-scalpel vasectomy provider, announced this during the iSpeak forum on Thursday, Nov. 28

“Welcome na welcome po ang walk-ins, the counseling will be done pre-operation,” Rabang said.

At present, there are 22 clients pre-registered for the NSV on Friday, which will be held at Buhangin Vasectomy Center, adjacent to the Buhangin Police Station.

Rabang reminded the discomfort is tolerable and that recovery can only take less than two days.

“Procedure is very safe, non-invasive, different from conventional that uses a blade, only a puncture is employed in this process, almost no pain,” Rabang stressed.

The official said they are accepting clients from outside Davao City or outside Mindanao.

From January to October, of a total of 110, two are foreigners, 28 are from outside the city, and 80 are residents of the city.

This month’s free NSV program is in line with the celebration of World Vasectomy Day. The official stressed the city is still catering to clients on the last Friday of December, for those who cannot avail of the program on Friday.
