  • PDEA XI tests 400 drivers as part of Undas 2024 in Davao Region

APPROXIMATELY 400 drivers in the Davao Region tested negative for drugs during a random drug test conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) in Ecoland, Davao City.

The operation was spearheaded by the Land Transportation Office XI Law Enforcement Section, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI, in coordination with the LTFRB Region XI.

This random drug testing is mandatory for all PUV drivers and conductors, especially bus drivers, in observance of All Saints’ Day to ensure the safe travel of passengers returning to their respective provinces or localities.

Moreover, the operation aims to prevent road accidents caused by drivers who may be under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol.

A total of 400 drivers underwent random drug testing: 150 from DCOTT, 150 from Tagum City Overland Transport Terminal, and 100 from Digos City Overland Transport Terminal.
