100 male PDLs get free legal assistance in Cagayan de Oro City Jail

IN CELEBRATION of the National Correctional Consciousness Week, three dedicated lawyers from the Public Attorneys Office (PAO)—Atty. Emily Jane K. Calingin-Dangazo, Atty. Abigail Joyce N. Co, and Atty. Paula Jane P. Flor-Dumalagan—along with Ms. Renevive M. Daing, provided essential legal consultations to 100 male persons deprived of liberty (PDLs).

The event took place in the south sector dalawan area, where the PDL were temporarily allowed outside their cells, facilitated by Jail Officers SJO2 Annaliza P Bachiller, SJO1 Guilbert G Ranque Jr., and JO2 Carlito W Aceron. Under the supervision of Jail Warden JSupt. Marlon J. Ymballa, DSC, this initiative aimed to ensure that PDL had access to justice and legal advice.

This initiative highlights PAO’s commitment to provide free legal assistance and foster an environment where every individual can access necessary legal support, reinforcing the principle of justice for all, even within correctional facilities.
